“Many of us spent years trying to control our use of marijuana.”
– Life with Hope, third edition, page 3
For years, I struggled with weed, which means that I struggled with myself. Reading the examples in the Life with Hope book in Step One brought back all the times I fought with myself. I made rules I would break, hid weed in places I would find, and gave it to friends I would call. I made promises I knew I couldn’t keep. Every day, I was struggling with either smoking or not smoking. When I stopped smoking, I stopped the struggle. There is no more fighting because there is nothing to fight about. I no longer let weed get in the way of my being honest—a person of integrity who is integral, whole, and undivided.
Final thought: Today, I live in peace with myself.
