March 25th – Turning Over Self-Will

March 25th - a hand holding a dandelion seed flower

“Step Three called us into action, for it was only by action that self-will could be removed.”

Life with Hope, first edition, page 11

This is a program of action, and the action suggested by this Step is enormous. I find that in order to make change manageable, I have to break it down into tangible actions. Each day is filled with moments when I may fall into my self-will, and each of those moments is an opportunity to instead do my Higher Power’s will.

Final thought: Today, in those moments, I find that I can turn my will over by repeating the Third Step Prayer, having a moment of quiet reflection, or simply asking, “What is the right thing to do?”
