July 21st – Acceptance

Accepting I have a problem with marijuana has been a challenge for me. My addiction is a “slow burn.” I won’t find myself being revived from an overdose; however, I found myself isolated and not managing my life after years of usage.
Accepting I am powerless over my addiction is part of the first step toward freedom. It also leads me to an acceptance of myself; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Acceptance may be difficult; however, in the fellowship of MA, I find others who relate to my stories and who share stories I can relate to. You are not alone! Fellowship with others who struggle with addiction to marijuana provides us support and encouragement. We, as a fellowship, accept one another. Even if I have trouble accepting myself, the fellowship accepts me until I can accept myself.
Final thought: Today, I am grateful for the acceptance shown by the fellowship of MA.
