November 20th – The Right Direction

November 20th - looking out of a wooded area towards a gate to a pasture field

“Faith provides us with the motivation to surrender to God’s will. We are, in truth, under the care of God. As we let loose our grip on the reins of our lives, we find we are being led, slowly and certainly, in the right direction—towards home.”

Life with Hope, first edition, page 57

The longer I am sober, the stronger my faith becomes and I see God’s will in my life with clarity. When I am struggling with any question, at that moment, I do not have to make any decision. Making a decision, at all, is not God’s will. When I let go of the need to do, to act, or to decide, and instead wait, God clearly (and often with a sense of humor) shows me the right decision path. When I rush to make a decision in my time, I am taking my will back. When I trust that the right path will open up for me, I am always clearly shown what to do. God speaks to me through “coincidences” and shows me what needs to be done. As long as I am actively listening and not doing, I will see God’s path for me and it is better than what I would have “figured out” for myself.

Final thought: I will pause if I am unsure and wait for God to direct me.
