“We take action and leave the results of our request to our Higher Power.”
– Life with Hope, first edition, page 34
Throughout my using career, I put off important decisions until some future date when conditions were right. What those perfect conditions were, I never really got around to figuring out, but I felt that now was not the right time. Why didn’t I take action in the past? Was it fear? Was it because I was too stoned to get off the couch? It possibly had to do with the fact I never really learned the skills to make my dreams a reality.
In recovery, I learn that the present moment is all I really have. Now is the perfect time for action. I know I am supported by a universe of endless possibilities, a strong fellowship in Marijuana Anonymous, and a loving Higher Power. Action is my driving motivation, not the results that follow.
Final thought: Today I approach life with clear intent, but no set agenda. I know my Higher Power is always looking after me.

By, Anonymous Anger was my god, and when I look back to my time in active addiction, believe me when I tell you, all I saw was red. Not the rose-coloured glasses that tell you the world is a utopia, or the glasses you see others through right before the hurt. I saw rage, I…
