“Addiction is a terminal disease that does not go into remission simply because we’re not using. Constant vigilance is critical if we are to keep this disease at bay.”
– Life with Hope, first edition, page 68
It is important for me to remember that I can’t do recovery alone. I need MA meetings and the fellowship of other recovering addicts. Other addicts understand the pain that I have felt when using, and the joy that I feel now. My sponsor is someone who listens and offers advice when I need it. Growth opportunities come my way and I can work the 12 Steps again.
My Higher Power has given me the gift of recovery. My Higher Power is always there for me. I can pray to do my Higher Power’s will and listen when I meditate. I am someone who loves to give and help others and I can do this by being of service. I can be of service by attending a meeting or by being involved in a MA World Service Conference. I can give a message of hope by sharing my story of recovery. I am grateful that I can help the addict who still suffers. I am grateful to those who came before me and offered their loving help. I am grateful that I have been transformed from an addict full of sorrow into someone who is truly “happy, joyous, and free” every day.
Final thought: Today, I know that I can meet life’s challenges of pain, fear, and hopelessness with love, peace, and serenity.

Written by, Anonymous God is not only for those whose lives need him for sake of savior. We created by him are perfectly cut Diamonds cast into the rough of life on earth. This place where God’s light is seen clearly only by the will of the soul. I concede to the thought that our…

Written by, Anonymous God is vast and infinite ocean and we are but droplets in the sea. We are made of the same stuff and take part in the same limitlessness. We move about each other, we droplets, pass around and through one another, mixing, swirling, crashing. God’s will in the great current. It pushes…
