“In Marijuana Anonymous we discover the reality of powerlessness; surrender outweighs the illusion of control and becomes our only option for recovery. We are powerless over marijuana in all of its forms.”
– Life with Hope, third edition, page 4
I find it helpful to repeat the following to myself aloud daily while working Step One and beyond:
“I am completely powerless over marijuana. If I use, I am sure to do it again. I cannot control or moderate my marijuana use. It is imperative that I surrender my addiction to God and commit 100 percent to not using again, even once, or I will spiral out of control, as I have done so many times before. God’s purpose for me is not to be merely functional, or be content with mediocrity. God’s purpose is for me to reach my full potential and grow into a full-fledged butterfly, one step at a time. I surrender my delusion that I can use once in a while and still grow. To grow as God intends for me, I must surrender completely.”
This is my foundation.
Final thought: Today, I will not use marijuana.

Written by, Anonymous I am a marijuana addict because when using pot, it was the most important thing in my life. More important than anyone or anything. It helped to suppress all the inadequacies I felt. It helped me not to feel the pain of not living up to expectations. It enabled me not to…
