August 8th – Six Months Clean

Our experiences, before and after we entered recovery, teach us three important ideas: That we are marijuana addicts and cannot manage our own lives; That probably no human power can relieve our addiction; and That our Higher Power can and will, if sought.”

Today, I am six months clean of marijuana. I never thought I’d make it here. I am thankful for my recovery and appreciative of my own work, but I also acknowledge that it wouldn’t be possible without this program and this fellowship. Six months clean; this seemed entirely unbelievable to me less than six months ago. The transformative power of Marijuana Anonymous, of the Twelve Steps, and of the fellowship are what made it possible. It makes the unbelievable possible; that’s why I keep coming back.
Final thought: Today, recovery means being surrounded by people who love me, shelter, employment, and my sanity.
