“The rewards we’ve received…are profound and sublime.”
– Life with Hope, third edition, page 45
After years of smoking pot, I was trapped in addiction. I continually caved to the ongoing cravings that crept up throughout the day and night. I was smoking around the clock. I had become powerless and needless to say, my life had become unmanageable.
I was desperate and was relieved to learn about Marijuana Anonymous. I came to believe that if I joined the MA fellowship, turned my will and life over to the care of God, (even though I didn’t understand God), worked the Steps and practiced the principles of the program, I could be set free from the bondage of my addiction. I had been told to attend “ninety meetings in ninety days,” but I ended up attending more than one meeting a day at the beginning of my recovery.
I was more than willing to trade the captivity of my addiction for freedom from addiction. What I have found as I’ve followed the path of the Twelve Steps are “rewards beyond calculation.”
Final thought: I will be forever grateful for the innumerable gifts that I’ve received from the MA program.

By Haley B. I didn’t know what marijuana was until I was in high school. When I learned about it, I was completely against it for many reasons. For one, it was illegal and I was as straight-laced as a 14-year-old could possibly be. Two, it sounded terrifying to lose control of yourself with a…

Written by, Anonymous Online meetings have worked very well for me. I live in a rural area with no in person meetings. They are a great way to learn about recovery from a vast variety of people. My rock bottom was triggered by financial stress. The work in my area is seasonal and so I…
